I've learned that elevation requires separation but not just from people, from ourselves. We must humble ourselves or be humbled. We must die to ourselves daily and put God's will and word above all. These bodies are dust, this world is dying but what about your soul? Are you whole? Or are you chasing the wind like the rest of them, are you chasing fleeting things? The fruits of the spirit are eternal, those are real treasures, pieces of Heaven on Earth. Once you have joy of the Lord nobody can take that. Once you have peace that surpasses all understanding nobody can block that. Love like the Lord nobody can disturb that. When you have kindness that is anchored in the Lord, nobody can snatch that. When you have gentleness from the Lord nobody can corrupt that. When you have patience that makes you want to pray before going off, nobody can rob you of that. When you have self control that pleases the Lord, people may think your crazy but your self control comes from the Lord , you can't read a self help book and possess it on this level. When you have goodness and faithfulness nobody can disrupt your spirit. These things help us to live the life we were created for not a life that we have created. Like a 5 year old in a candy store, we do damage to ourselves. Most of the things we've endured, God never intended for us to experience. We create detours and dead ends. We must obtain these fruits. Matt. 7:16, "you will recognize them by their fruit..." What's hanging on your tree?
